4Ocean captains and crews recover trash from the world's ocean and coastlines seven days a week. They are working to stop the inflow of plastics by changing consumption habits. They encourage individual participation and hope for support of their mission.

Their web page looks at the deforestation crisis and shows what they are doing through international agencies. The goal for 2019 is 4,000,000 trees. A 30 year old restoration of a seagrass field in the lagoons off the shores of southern Virginia show that promise. Fields of seagrass, forests of kelp, and other plants in our ocean will produce oxygen and sequester nitrogen and CO2 better than our rainforests. According to WWF’s article 10 Reasons to Hope, seagrass can capture carbon 35 times faster than even tropical rainforests, but as it currently covers merely 0.2% of the seafloor, the potential to use more seagrass as a carbon offset is essentially unlimited.
An added benefit is the restoration of an entire ecologic system. The Virginia area of the study had been bereft of biological diversity and now it is teeming with life. India's Solutions to Clean Air India is converting all of its national gasoline supply from fuel with sulfur at 50 part per million to 10 parts per million. This will radically clean their CO2 output.
India is also converting all 12 of its national seaports to all electricity. That even includes the power they supply to ships when they are docked. Read the article. Michigan League of Conservation Voters

FLOW has a number of programs to counteract the effects that global warming and industrial/agricultural pollution is causing to the largest body of fresh water in the world. They assist communities to develop first-in-the-nation, groundbreaking laws to protect rights – including worker, environmental, and democratic rights, and rights of nature. CELDF provides free and low cost legal services, grassroots organizing, and education, to communities, states, and countries facing injustice.
